Swettenham Stud

The stud was purchased by Robert Sangster and Colin Hayes in 1995 . It accommodates up to eight stallions. Master of Design is our highlighted stallion, group one winning son of Redoutes Choice out of the Last Tycoon mare Urge to Merge, winner of nearly a million dollars in prizemoney. Creativity, the 3 year old filly is probably the best of his first crop. Artistic Design was also a good maiden winner for the Freedmans, late last year. Delta Dór who has now won six in the Northern Territory, she is from an Encosta De Lago mare and yesterday we saw Educate, win the maiden at Pakenham on the synthetic. Master of Design is standing for $15,000.

 Other Stallions Standing at Swettenham
Review of starters appear to be a little average although the filly creativity seems promising and the Northern Territory gelding Delta Dór has won six races and 140,000 dollars in prizemoney . He is out of the Encosta De Lago mare Gold Delta . A big watch on these two.

Arrowfield Stud

Arrowfield Stud was established in 1985 with John Messara as the man in charge but it wasnt until 1989 that Arrowfield made one of the single most important purchases in Australian bloodstock history. It secured a majority interest in Danehill, who was to become a global breeding sensation. The influence of  Danehill cannot be under estimated. He is the sire of 89 Group 1 winners, more than any other stallion in history.
After relocating in 1996 to its present location near Scone. Arrowfield also enjoyed great success with the outstanding sire Snippets before launching the careers of three champion sire sons of Danehill. They were Danzero, Flying Spur and the all conquering champion sire, and sire of sires Redoute’s Choice. Redoute’s Choice heads the current roster and the last few years has shuttled to the northern hemisphere where on saturday he scored his first group winner in Good Luck.
